Information We Collect

When you place an order we collect your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, and the details of what you bought. Payment card numbers are handled directly by our payment processor and never reach our servers.

If you subscribe to our newsletter we store your email address. If you write to us we keep the message so we can help you. If you submit a product review we store the name and comment you provide, which are published on the site.

How We Use It

We use your information to process and ship orders, handle returns and refunds, respond to enquiries, prevent fraud, meet our tax and bookkeeping obligations, and — only if you have opted in — send occasional emails about new collections.

Legal Basis and Consent

In Canada we rely on your consent, which you give by placing an order or subscribing. Consent for marketing email is always explicit and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message or by emailing us.

Who We Share It With

We share the minimum necessary with the services that make the shop work: our payment processor, our shipping carriers, our email provider and our hosting provider. Each handles data on our instructions. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. We never sell or rent customer data.

Cookies

The site uses cookies that are needed for basic functions such as keeping your cart and your session. If we add analytics or advertising cookies in future we will ask for your consent first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well.

How Long We Keep It

Order and invoice records are kept for seven years as Canadian tax rules require. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiry emails are kept for up to two years.

Security

The site runs over encrypted connections and access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to fulfil orders. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information.

Your Rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, ask us to delete information we no longer need, or withdraw marketing consent. Email info@budebrothers.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

Our shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be announced by email to subscribers.
